Lacey Floral Loving

The genius Jorden Keith took these awesome pics and I couldn't be anymore in love.  The lighting is unreal and he has the perfect touch.  As you all know I love the hippie feel and this shoot was no exception.  You will be seeing more work around here from him because I just can't stay away!

  12. You look lovely cara. The photos are exquisite. I totally agree with your decision to take off the c/o. As long as we still can still see where everything is from. And you obviously took care of that. Thanks for sharing this post. It's gorgeous. xx. McKenna Lou

  15. I have this kimono but have only ever wore it over black skinny jeans; I love the soft but sexy look the dress gives it. Really romantic.

  16. Your photographer did a great job with these shots.

"c/o" means "courtesy of," which means you're properly disclosing that an item was given to you by a vendor. The FTC actually requires that bloggers inform readers when an item was received for free in exchange for publicity.

So if you're still getting things free, make sure you make note of it so you don't get in trouble with the blogging police!

  19. Really love this look! The florals are so pretty and you're right, the lighting is unreal.

I kind of understand why you'd want to get rid of the c/o but unfortunately I think you are required to disclose when an item is given to you for free. I know when you wear a courtesy of item, it can feel like you're trying to "sell" that item to a reader. People can sometimes make comments if you have to many c/o pieces but as long as those pieces reflect your current style I wouldn't worry about it. I don't have too many c/o pieces sent to me yet but when I do I am very picky about what I wear (I know that probably sounds snobby but I don't want anything I am given to look like I'm being paid to wear it). Also, I try to mix in those c/o pieces with ones I've purchased myself.

Just my thoughts on the issue. But I do think you'll have to go back to letting your readers know which pieces are c/o. You are very lucky to be sent so much but remember that you are your own brand and you should only wear what you love, regardless of whether it was sent to you by a sponsor.

Oh and I only wear pieces that reflect my personal style trust me. I have to turn down many items but I have to stay true to myself! Thanks again!!

  22. So pretty Cara! You always look so effortlessly chic! I've just went public with my Fashion/Decorating blog and I was thinking that you had to include a c/o if something was given to you? I'm not 100% sure so I will have to research it for myself too. Also, I think it is courteous to acknowledge that whatever company it is, has given an item to the blogger. On the other hand, companies send a shirt, dress, shoes etc.. which is a very small price in exchange for publicity and marketing that they would typically have to pay lots of $$$ for so just including the brand or where it's from should be sufficient in my opinion so I think it should be fine if you take off the c/o :) unless it would get you in trouble of course..

  23. Love this!

It is required for bloggers to note when things are given to them , just an FYI. Since you are a large blog, I would be sure to note that so you don't have any conflicts with the FTC.

  32. Hello! I love your style, and it's so helpful you offer the links to where things can be purchased however whenever I click on a link for example the dress and the hat in this post, it doesn't take me to the correct destination. Just a heads up! Also if you correct the links, can you please let me know, thanks!
