Style Lab #3
Friday, January 17, 2014 39 Comments Images

This third and final style lab look is my favorite of them all. The second I saw the skirt in the store I know I had to wear it! The detail and leather work in the skirt are seriously amazing. I decided to dress it down a little with this Rag & Bone top and Dsquared leather jacket. I have to say that I almost walked out of the store with this Saint Laurent clutch. It's the best size clutch for a night out or an event or anything to that sort. I am still in love with it and debating on whether I should splurge and purchase it or not. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this final style lab look, they have been some of my favorite looks ever!

Entire outfit from Luisa Via Roma
top: Rag & Bone
jacket: Dsquared
skirt: Fausto Puglisi
bag: Saint Laurent Paris
shoes: Casadei

  25. Hi Cara,
I've been following your blog for over a year now and I have loved every outfit post! After i had my daughter I was in a fashion slump. When I saw that you had a little one not much older than mine and you still got dressed nicely I was inspired to start looking more fashionable too.
One of the reasons I started following your blog was because you posted outfits wearing affordable clothes from places like Target, Old Navy, and H&M as well as local boutiques. I also loved learning about all the cute children's brands out there for my daughter!
I have been very disappointed with your outfit posts lately. While you still look great and I'm glad to see that your modeling/fashion/blog have taken off I cannot realistically afford any of the things you post in your outfits or find anything similar. I cannot fathom spending over $1,600 on one tiny clutch or nearly $11,000 on a skirt! You're wearing about 15 THOUSAND dollars worth of clothes for one outfit! I could buy a car for that price. And I rarely see any outfit posts for kids fashion.
I'm sad to say that your blog no longer suits my life like it did just a year ago and you mostly represent high-end, very expensive brands. I will most likely end up unfollowing your posts. Like I said before though, I'm glad that your blog has come so far in a year, its been amazing to watch. Its just been sad for me to lose such a great daily fashion inspiration.

    1. Hi Mara,
I have to begin by saying thank you for ever following my blog. As most everyone has understood from these past few posts I traveled to Italy for an opportunity with a designer clothing line. I got to design three looks and put my own outfits together with designer pieces that I would never be able to have myself. This is supposed to give my followers outfit inspiration. That means they could style a similar look in their price range. I do not own any of the items posted. I still have posts all the time with very affordable pieces. If you look at the post right below this there are pieces from $10 and up.
As far as kids fashion I still do posts all the time with Hanes in them. I'm sorry it's quite cold out here and I don't like to always bring him out if I feel it is too cold for him but I include him as much as possible and as much and he likes to be. I never like to push it on him so it's not a positive experience.
I'm sorry you feel this way about my blog and if you stop following I completely understand. I try to have a wide variety of posts for all my different followers and I'm sorry they didn't satisfy you.
      XOXO Cara

    2. I really have to agree with Mara on this one. I do love all of your posts, but I also originally started following you for inexpensive style inspiration. I understand that this was a unique opportunity, but these posts are not the only ones with higher priced items (upwards of $100 a piece). I know that you have a gained A LOT of exposer since you have first started this blog, and with that a lot of upscale boutiques and designers are given you items to feature in your blog that are expensive. I really wish that you would have maybe just stuck to your guns and kept with the more affordable priced items.

    3. Cara, I personally like to see high fashion, but more than that, I love to see what YOU do with clothing, regardless of price. For example, the bright shoe with this outfit - I would have put on black, or nude, but you've shown me what the difference that pop can make, even with a lot of other statement pieces going on! It is the unique way you see, match, coordinate, and express fashion that has gotten you to where you are and what will continue to gain you exposure and followers. You can't please everyone, all of the time, there's no sense in trying. Keep being you. XO -m-
