Get Fit at Home
Wednesday, June 21, 2017 13 Comments Images

Summer is here and I'm coming to you from my very own backyard. With the change of the seasons, my boys want to do one thing and one thing only, and that is play outside! Seriously, whether it be swimming, the park, baseball, basketball, ninja turtles, and more.....you name the activity to play, they want to do it outside! So, knowing that, I have made an effort to adapt my workout and take it outside as well. Don't get me wrong I still go to the gym and love going to the gym, but there are days, like the one below in the pics, that staying fit and focusing on my overall wellness is carried out right at home.

This particular day the dudes were swimming in their mini pool and running through the sprinklers out back, so that meant some abs, legs, and arms workout for me. Working out outside brings one very clear difference to my routine, as compared to working out in the gym or inside my home...that difference, the amount I sweat and how fast I start to sweat! Anyone else in this boat? Especially on a hot summer day like the one pictured, it's like instant sweating! Knowing that about my outdoor workouts, I am always on the hunt to find activewear that caters to the warmer temperatures and combines the style/brands I love with the right fit and cut(s). For me, Kohl's answered the bell again, giving me an awesome selection of sports bras, leggings, shorts, hats, and shoes that fit my needs and help me feel confident as I wear them.

One of the brands Kohl's carries is, as you can see, Nike. I went head to toe Nike for this activewear look and kept the colors simple and clean. I loved the way it all came together and I love knowing that Kohl's is a great option for any wellness and wellness needs.

As for the workout itself, I think any time you workout from home, the key is to have a plan and set goals from the get go. Know how many reps you want to do before you start, and push yourself to meet those expectations. If you don't have a plan and stick to it, lots of times what happens is the workout gets lost in the shuffle and you get distracted doing something else, because let's face it there is a lot to do at home (like swim with the dudes in their mini pool haha).

Any who, I hope you guys liked the post and I hope it serves a reminder to mix up your workout and workout routines. Try adding an outdoor routine to your mix and see how you like it and let me know if you sweat gallons and gallons like me while you are out there! Big thanks to you all for following, go checkout Kohl's activewear for yourself and let me know what you think! Much love!

  2. I have followed you for years and years, since baby Hanes! I think what I love most about your family is the lifestyle you encourage just by being yourselves.

I so look forward to your motivating posts about lifestyle and your workout videos are amazing for people who don't have a local gym (I'm from the States, but live in Spain).

I was wondering if you would make more meal plan ideas, or talk about your Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner go-to's. I remember a lunch video you guys posted a while back and loved it!

    Warmly,
    Brittany Stepp
